Job Summary:

Guardian Bikes is scaling fast—our total shipment volume is projected to triple in the next three years—and we need transportation talent that thrives in that kind of hyper-growth. The Global Transportation Analyst will serve as the control-tower for all corporate freight activity, providing end-to-end visibility and execution across inbound, outbound, and inter-company flows. You will blend real-time operational oversight with deep analytical insight to keep product moving, optimize cost, and elevate carrier performance. Entrepreneurial problem-solving, comfort with ambiguity, and the confidence to tackle challenges few analysts encounter at this scale are essential. In addition, the role owns small-parcel contract negotiation for a package count forecasted to exceed one million parcels per year and will help integrate logistics networks acquired through future M&A activity.

Key Responsibilities and Time Allocation:

1. Global Freight Visibility & Monitoring (30%)

  • Track and monitor global shipments (inbound, outbound, and intercompany) across all modes—air, ocean, truck, parcel.
  • Leverage internal, carrier, and 3PL visibility platforms to proactively identify delays, risks, and disruptions.
  • Coordinate with carriers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution.

2. Transportation Performance Reporting & Analysis (25%)

  • Develop and own KPIs and dashboards related to on-time delivery, dwell time, carrier performance, and freight spend.
  • Provide insights and root cause analysis for missed SLAs and late deliveries.
  • Drive regular reporting to stakeholders across supply chain, operations, and customer service.

3. Exception Management & Escalations (20%)

  • Manage the escalation process for high-impact shipments (e.g., expedited freight, customer escalations, factory down risks).
  • Collaborate with freight forwarders, brokers, and internal teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Support rapid communication and status updates for critical shipments.

4. Freight Cost Management & Support (15%)

  • Partner with procurement and finance to validate freight invoices and support cost control initiatives.
  • Analyze trends in transportation costs, fuel surcharges, and carrier rate compliance.
  • Recommend freight mode shifts or consolidation opportunities to reduce costs.

5. Process Optimization & Tool Improvement (10%)

  • Identify opportunities to improve visibility tools, reporting automation, and freight execution processes.
  • Participate in transportation system enhancements (e.g., TMS upgrades, visibility platform integrations).
  • Support playbook development for recurring issues and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • 4–8 years of experience in transportation, freight, or supply chain operations (international experience a plus).
  • Proficiency in TMS, freight visibility platforms, and Excel/Power BI for analysis and reporting.
  • Strong sense of urgency, organizational awareness, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic global environment with shifting priorities.
