Job Summary
Blue Tees Golf is seeking a hands-on Vice President of Finance to serve as a strategic financial leader and operator. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role owns the full finance function, including FP&A, accounting oversight, and treasury. This leader will be responsible for building rigor across financial planning, forecasting, reporting, controls, and business partnership across the organization.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building bottoms-up forecast models and presenting financial insights to the executive team. This person will bring strong business judgment, hands-on FP&A capability, accounting leadership, and experience operating in a high-growth consumer and/or SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business & Commercial Partnership
- Build the Finance and Accounting function into a trusted business partner to Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Product leadership
- Translate financial data into actionable business insights, not just reporting
- Support pricing decisions, product launches, and go-to-market investments through financial modeling
- Drive company focus on growth, margin improvement, and operating efficiencies
- Establish financial discipline and accountability across the business
FP&A Leadership and Execution
- Own and execute the Annual Operating Plan process end-to-end
- Lead the company forecasting cycle
- Build and maintain integrated P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow models across hardware and SaaS segments
- Develop robust SaaS reporting and recurring revenue visibility
- Produce monthly financial reporting packages for the CEO and board, including variances, risks, and opportunities
- Develop unit economics frameworks, including CAC, LTV, payback, and gross margin by channel and SKU
- Assess team and resource needs to build out Blue Tees’ FP&A capabilities over time
Accounting & Controls Oversight
- Manage one direct report to start, with responsibility for close quality and timeliness
- Ensure GAAP compliance, including ASC 606 revenue recognition for SaaS
- Ensure inventory accounting accuracy
- Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and sales tax processes across jurisdictions
- Partner with external auditors and tax advisors on annual audit and tax filings
Treasury & Capital Management
- Manage cash positioning, liquidity forecasting, and banking relationships
- Oversee bank reporting compliance and accuracy
- Optimize working capital, including inventory financing, AR/AP cycles, and credit facilities
- Support capital markets or M&A activity as needed
Qualifications and Requirements
Required
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with the ability to build models from scratch
- Proven ability to own financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes
- Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
- Experience operating as a strategic business partner to executive leadership
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong ERP experience; NetSuite strongly preferred
- Experience with SaaS metrics including ARR, MRR, churn, and LTV/CAC
- Understanding of GAAP principles, including revenue recognition (ASC 606)
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a high level of ownership
- Experience improving financial processes, reporting, and data integrity
- Ability to lead and develop a small team while remaining hands-on
Preferred
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
- Experience in businesses with both hardware and recurring software revenue models
- Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, or similar
- Experience supporting M&A, capital raises, or audit processes
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 8–10+ years of progressive experience in finance, including FP&A and accounting oversight
- Experience at the Senior Director or VP level, or operating at equivalent scope
- Experience in consumer products, DTC, or omnichannel businesses
- Experience in high-growth or scaling environments
- Experience owning budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Experience working closely with or overseeing accounting functions
- MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced certification
- Experience scaling a business from ~$50M to $200M+ revenue
